Simplifying Customs Procedures through Digitalisation and Bureaucracy Reduction
Digitalisation and de-bureaucratisation offer an important opportunity to simplify customs procedures. This is not only to the benefit of economic operators, but also of the customs authorities. Digitalisation of customs procedures must therefore be implemented consistently at all levels and should always lead to a reduction in bureaucratic requirements for economic operators.

Täglich exportieren und importieren deutsche Unternehmen Waren im Wert von mehreren Milliarden Euro. Damit ein Produkt aus nicht-europäischen Ländern nach Deutschland eingeführt werden kann, müssen Unternehmen allerdings zahlreiche Hürden nehmen. Auch im Ausland treffen deutsche Unternehmen auf erhebliche Barrieren. Damit der Handel auch in Zukunft Motor für Wachstum und Arbeitsplätze ist, müssen Zölle abgebaut und Zollverfahren modernisiert und digitalisiert werden.
